Durex Lube Side Effects & More

Durex Lube Side Effects

I’ve never experienced any adverse Durex lube side effects when using Durex Play 2-in-1 Massage Gel, or any other Durex Play lubricant for that matter, but in general it’s wise to avoid getting any into your eyes.

If you experience irritation, stop using it.

Contact your doctor if the irritation continues or if you have to use additional lubricant all the time.

If you have experienced any Durex lube side effects while using Durex Play 2-in-1 Massage Gel, please let me know in a comment below.

Durex Maxima Silicone Lube Side Effects

Silicone-based lubricants are generally considered safe for use, but like any product, they may cause side effects in some individuals.

Common side effects associated with silicone-based lubricants include:

  1. Skin irritation: Some people may experience skin irritation or allergic reactions to silicone-based lubricants, especially if they are sensitive to silicone or other ingredients in the product.
  2. Staining: Silicone-based lubricants may leave stains on fabric or bedding, which can be difficult to remove.
  3. Reduced effectiveness with silicone toys: Silicone-based lubricants should not be used with silicone sex toys as they can degrade the material over time, making the toy less effective or even causing it to break down.
  4. Slippery surfaces: Silicone-based lubricants can create very slippery surfaces, which may increase the risk of falls or accidents, especially in the shower or bathtub.
  5. Difficult to wash off: Silicone-based lubricants are not water-soluble, so they may be more difficult to wash off compared to water-based lubricants.

It’s important to read and follow the manufacturer’s instructions when using any lubricant, and to discontinue use if you experience any discomfort or adverse reactions.

If you have concerns about using silicone-based lubricants, you may want to consider trying a water-based or oil-based alternative instead.

Desirex Gel Side Effects

Desirex gel is a  a stimulating substance that brings sensual waves of warming, cooling and tingling to increase the sensitivity of a woman’s intimate areas.

Durex Strawberry Lube Side Effects

Durex lube strawberry side effects

Durex Strawberry Lube, like any other personal lubricant, may have potential side effects for some individuals. While allergic reactions are rare, they can still occur. If you have a known allergy to any of the ingredients in the lubricant, such as strawberries or other components, you should avoid using it to prevent adverse reactions.

Some common side effects that users might experience include:

  1. Skin Irritation: Some individuals may experience skin irritation, redness, itching, or a burning sensation after using the product. This could be due to sensitivity to one or more ingredients in the lubricant.
  2. Allergic Reactions: Allergic reactions to specific ingredients in the lubricant can manifest as hives, rash, swelling, or difficulty breathing. If you experience any severe allergic reactions, seek medical attention immediately.
  3. Changes in Vaginal pH: Some lubricants, especially those with added flavors or fragrances, may disrupt the natural pH balance of the vagina, leading to discomfort, itching, or an increased risk of infections such as yeast infections or bacterial vaginosis.
  4. Increased Risk of Condom Breakage: While lubricants like Durex Strawberry Lube are condom-compatible, using too much lubricant or applying it incorrectly can increase the risk of condom breakage, reducing its effectiveness in preventing sexually transmitted infections and unintended pregnancy.

To minimize the risk of side effects, it’s essential to read the product label carefully, especially if you have known allergies or sensitivities. Conduct a patch test on a small area of skin before using it more extensively, and discontinue use if you experience any adverse reactions. If you have any concerns or experience persistent side effects, consult with a healthcare professional for guidance.

  1. Wow! I’ve seen them in the pharmacies over here, but I have never taken the time to look at them. I thought it was all BS…now I will try thanks girl!

    1. Hi GotBigBoooty (lol at that! :-)),

Welcome to ChickAboutTown! Yes, you definitely want to take a closer look. Enjoy! And give us feedback ;-).

      1. hey girl…
and thanks for the info about the gyms.
I am coming back to nairobi and needed that
info urgently. are there any cheaper ones
        though?

        1. Hi GotBigBooty,

A couple of years ago, I used to hear people talk well of the gym at Visions Plaza on Mombasa Road, which at the time charged 2,500 KSh a month for membership (remember this is hearsay). From the outside it looked really good but I can’t tell you from experience what the service was like on the inside. In my experience, in an effort to get a cheaper gym one often had to compromise on quality.

When I was last in Nairobi, I saw that quite a number of new gyms had come up which looked pretty good – I have no clue what pricing at these gyms was like though. For instance, I saw a good looking gym in Prestige Plaza on Ngong Road, and I know another one opened up in Yaya not too long ago. I guess you’ll have to shop around once you get back to Nairobi. Let me know what you find when you do!

          Cheers,
          Biche

  2. Heck if one is not getting any at least it doesn’t go to waste!

I always tell myself I’ll buy one, but I freak out coz they are just right there at the counter and everyone always seems to be staring!

Aki am going to go to the supermarket at night when no one is there (yeeeei for 24hour shopping!) and am going to grab myself a bottle.

    1. Hi Mama,

So I guess your one of those people who also cringes when it comes to buying a condoms, eh? 😉 I’ll just agree with you: yeeeei for 24-hour shopping. 🙂

  3. Hey,

Just discovered this blog and spending a little time on the archives as it should be,

I have tried the which has an interesting tingle that lasts for about a minute and smells like Vaporub.

It is fine but I am just suspicious of it… to me a lube is functional so I am sticking with good old K- (I do not plug products). All I want is something unobtrusive and condom safe

    1. Hi Potash,

      Welcome to ChickAboutTown!

You must be referring to Play Tingle. I’ve never tried that before, but if it’s anything like the Durex Tingle condom, I think I’d find it pleasant enough. 😉

I’ve never tried KY. I should try that sometime.

      Thanks for sharing,
      Biche

  4. Hey…
I once tried the tingle lubricant… It made me rather uncomfy..KY is good, but the durex 2-in-1..ABSOLUTELY DIVINE!

    1. Hi Virgo,

      Welcome to ChickAboutTown!

I’ve seen this product at Shopper’s Supermarket, both in Mikocheni and in Oysterbay, on the shelf where condoms are stocked. Come back and leave me a comment once you’ve given it a try! 😉

  8. Hi Nash,

    Welcome to ChickAboutTown!

I can’t tell you for sure where else to find it, especially that I no longer live in Nairobi, but as a former Nairobian, the next place I’d look would be a well-stocked pharmacy. I hope that helps. Good luck with finding the product!

  9. Hi I realize this is a very old topic as the last comment was made in 2010.. Just needed to confirm something hence am here. Wanted to use the durex massage, is it really edible?wanted to use it with my girl to spice things up during and after foreplay.. And has anyone experienced any side effects or anything? especially around the “delicate” areas.. Thanks, Neo

    1. Hi Neo7,

Welcome to ChickAboutTown! I am sorry I never responded to your comment, I see you posted it in the month of December, so it must have slipped through the cracks during the holiday season. In case answers might still be useful to you:

      1. It is indeed edible. I can attest to that again from recent use. 😉
      2. I’ve never experienced side effects, but people react to different things. If either you or your partner experience adverse side effects, it is advised that you stop using it.

If you try it out, I hope you like it as much as I do. 😉

      Biche

    1. Hi Chrissz,
