Will you be travelling to Johannesburg soon and are wondering where to stay when you do? If so, you are in the right place. In this post, you’ll find some recommendations for hotels in Johannesburg based on places I’ve stayed myself. I hope you find these useful!

Hotels in Johannesburg

Recommendation #1: Palazzo Hotel (Fourways, Sandton)

The Palazzo Hotel in Fourways Johannesburg

The luxurious Palazzo Hotel, run by the Tsogo Sun hospitality group, is part of the grand Montecasino Entertainment Complex in Fourways, Johannesburg.

The Palazzo Hotel does hospitality right in so many ways: from the warm welcome you receive from the hotel’s staff to the beautiful Tuscan-inspired architecture and gardens.

The rooms are cozy and opulently decorated with rich, soft textures and bathrooms that make you squeal with delight (at least they did me).

The dining at the Palazzo Hotel is noteworthy, featuring excellent Mediterranean cuisine and brunches that you will not forget.

Perhaps it’s because it’s located in a wine producing country, but one thing that stands out in my mind, from my experiences at the Palazzo, is the outstanding wines on offer.

Oenophiles will sure not be disappointed!

Recommendation #2: Old Umtali Guest House (Fourways, Sandton)

A room at Old Umtali Guest House in Fourways Johannesburg

If living in the lap of luxury is not up your alley, but you are rather more interested in staying at a delightful place that is also pocket friendly, then the Old Umtali Guest House might be just the place for you.

Like the Palazzo Hotel, it is also in Fourways about a 15-minute walk from the Montecasino Entertainment Complex.

The Old Umtali Guest House is located in a converted residential property in a pleasant, secure(!), residential area. The guest house itself is charming and quaint with beautiful gardens and quite a bit of privacy.

The owner Terry is very approachable and accommodating. Oh, and did I mention the breakfast? No, but I should: they serve a mean, mean breakfast.

    1. Hi Salehe,

Karibu ChickAboutTown! Hiyo bei ni ya kusafiri kwenda wapi? Nitakushauri: jaribu kufanya booking kwenye tovuti yao. Hiyo bei inaweza kupatikana ukiwa na bahati.
