Remaining on the subject of the 18th edition of the Zanzibar International Film Festival (ZIFF), it has now been confirmed that Leleti Khumalo, star of the 1992 movie Sarafina!, will attend ZIFF 2015 as an official guest. Read on to find out more.
Leleti Khumalo Comes to Zanzibar
Internationally renowned actress Leleti Khumalo, known for her leading roles in the movie and stage play “Sarafina!” as well as the film “Yesterday”, which was nominated in the 2005 Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film, has been confirmed as one of the official guests to attend 2015’s Zanzibar International Film Festival in July.
Zuku is very excited to have Leleti Khumalo as the official guest and to be part of this milestone in the evolution of the film industry. Khumalo was a force to be reckoned with as a black South African actress during the apartheid era and has remained a powerhouse and icon in the film & television industry says ZUKU TV Director Mandy Roger. The Zanzibar International Film Festival 2015 will be showing the film “Sarafina!” as part of its line up in recognition of the South African film industry and to celebrate Africa’s talents in film.

Zanzibar International Film Festival 2015

As in previous years the Zanzibar International Film Festival 2015 will welcome dozens of professional and aspiring film directors & producers from across Africa and the world for 8 days of film, music and cultural celebration.
