With all the daily wear and tear on our feet, they tend to accumulate dead skin cells, making them look dry and rough.
The buildup of dead skin on the feet can lead to various foot problems, such as calluses, corns, and cracked heels, something that I often suffer from personally because I LOVE to walk barefoot.
It is, therefore, essential to remove dead skin on feet regularly.
In this blog post, I will explore some of the best ways to remove dead skin on feet.
How to Remove Dead Skin From Feet Tip #1: Soak Your Feet
Soaking your feet in warm water is an effective way to remove dead skin cells. It softens the skin, making it easier to remove dead skin cells.
Fill a basin with warm water and add a few drops of essential oil, such as lavender or peppermint, to make it more relaxing.
Soak your feet in the water for 15-20 minutes, then use a pumice stone or foot scrubber to gently scrub the dead skin cells off your feet.
Removing Dead Skin From Feet Tip #2: Use a Pumice Stone
A pumice stone is a volcanic rock that is used to remove dead skin cells. It is effective in removing tough and thick dead skin cells on the feet.
Wet your feet and the pumice stone with warm water, then gently rub the stone over the affected area in a circular motion. This is something that I do after every bath.
Do not apply too much pressure as it can damage the skin. Rinse your feet with water and apply a moisturizing lotion to keep them soft and smooth.
How to Get Dead Skin Off Your Feet Tip #3: Exfoliate with Foot Scrubs
Foot scrubs are another effective way to remove dead skin on feet. They contain abrasive particles that help to exfoliate dead skin cells.
Apply the scrub on your feet and gently massage it in a circular motion. Pay attention to the areas that have a buildup of dead skin cells, such as the heels and the balls of your feet.
Rinse off the scrub with water and pat your feet dry.
Apply a moisturizing lotion to keep your feet soft and smooth.
One benefit of using foot scrubs, as opposed to or in conjunction with a pumice stone, is that a foot scrub allows you to also easily exfoliate parts of your legs close to your feet without too much pain.
When I use a foot scrub on my feet, for instance, I also apply it to my ankles and legs all the way to my knees.

Chemical exfoliants contain acids, such as alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) or salicylic acid, that help to dissolve dead skin cells.
