Cedars Gigiri Reviews — My Take

From the moment you walk in, Cedars Gigiri feels welcoming. The restaurant is tucked away at the junction of UN Avenue and UN Crescent in Gigiri, offering both indoor seating and a garden‑style terrace with a relaxed atmosphere. The outdoor space and a small playground make it a good choice for families or mixed‑age groups.

Cedars Gigiri reviews: Falafel at Cedars Nairobi

The menu delivers solid Lebanese cuisine. The mezze selection stands out — hummus, baba ghanoush, tabbouleh, falafel, stuffed vine leaves, grilled halloumi, sambousek — all classic items done with care. For larger appetites there are grilled meats, mixed platters, shawarma, fish kebabs, and vegetarian‑friendly plates. The freshly baked pita bread makes a good companion to the dips and starters.

According to Cedars Gigiri reviews, many diners praise the freshness of the food and generous portions. The cold starters and mezze get repeated compliments. Some guests mention that meals shared among a few people are especially satisfying, allowing you to try a variety of flavors without over‑ordering.

That said, Cedars Gigiri reviews are not all glowing. A few mention that service can feel slow or disjointed when it’s busy — drink orders or additional plates take time.

Others find the price a bit steep, especially if ordering several plates to share. A couple of reviewers felt portions on heavier dishes were not always proportionate to cost.

For a balanced visit, it’s worth coming with friends or family, ordering a mix of mezze and a main or two, and taking your time — maybe on a quiet evening or during a live‑music Friday for an added vibe.

All in all, Cedars Gigiri remains a credible option for Lebanese food in Nairobi when you want variety, flavor, and a relaxed setting.

Lebanese Restaurant in Nairobi: Cedars Bar Lenana Road & Cedars Restaurant Nairobi

Although most people think of Cedars as a restaurant, Cedars also has a bar that many people frequent in and of its own right.

The bar area at Cedars Lebanese Restaurant Nairobi is classy, though small.

I hear they serve a mean cocktail, though I have never tried any myself.

The one thing that I keep hearing from people who frequent the bar is that the service there is amazing. And so it is!

The bartenders at Cedars take a keen interest in their customers.

After you’ve been there a couple of times, they make sure to note what you regularly drink and are sure to offer it to you the next time you drink at Cedars.

Nonetheless, because of its small size and expensive drinks (a Tusker malt costs Ksh. 200 at Cedars), the Cedars bar is hardly my place of choice for casual drinks.

Instead, I would rather recommend Cedars as a restaurant.

In this capacity, Cedars excels.

If you have never tasted Lebanese food, Cedars is a great place to taste a new cuisine.

If you are already familiar with Lebanese food, this is the place you should be eating it in Nairobi. (To be fair, I must say that I have never been to The Phoenician in Westlands, which is also a Lebanese restaurant.)

Whatever the case, I would like to know what you have to say about Cedars, either as a first timer, or as a frequent visitor.
