Glovo Tanzania
Glovo is not officially available in Tanzania, including in Dar es Salaam, Arusha, Mwanza, Dodoma or Zanzibar. The list of countries where Glovo currently operates does not include Tanzania, even though it is active in several other African nations like Kenya and Uganda. When you open the Glovo website or app and check the countries it serves, Tanzania is not on that list.
What Glovo does elsewhere:
Glovo is a Spanish on‑demand delivery platform used in multiple countries across Europe, Africa and other regions. Through its app you can typically order food, groceries, pharmacy items, and other goods, with delivery by local riders. In Africa it operates officially in places such as Kenya, Uganda, Morocco, Nigeria, Côte d’Ivoire, and Tunisia, but not Tanzania.(Glovo)
What this means in practice for people in Tanzania:
Since Glovo doesn’t operate there, you won’t be able to place orders for food, groceries or other deliveries through the Glovo app with an address in Dar es Salaam or other Tanzanian cities. If you try to use the app in Tanzania you’ll likely either be shown delivery options for nearby supported cities (like Kampala in Uganda) or you’ll see that no services are available for your location.(Glovo)
Alternatives in Tanzania:
Tanzanian cities have other food‑delivery and courier platforms that local restaurants and shops use. These include locally built apps and services that are active within Dar es Salaam and other major centres, but Glovo isn’t one of them at the moment. If you’re looking for delivery services available in Tanzania, I can share the main options with you too.

Uber Eats Dar es Salaam & Uber Eats Zanzibar

As of November 2025, Uber Eats has not launched its services in Dar es Salaam or Zanzibar.
While Uber provides ride-hailing services in several Tanzanian cities, including Dar es Salaam, Dodoma, Mwanza, and Zanzibar, its food delivery platform, Uber Eats, is not available in the country.
Uber first introduced its ride-hailing services in Tanzania in 2016, starting with Dar es Salaam. The company’s innovative platform connects drivers with riders in real-time, offering an affordable, safe, and reliable way to navigate the city.
This launch positioned Dar es Salaam among the smart transportation hubs in Africa, reflecting the city’s rapid economic growth and increasing demand for modern transportation solutions.
In April 2022, Uber temporarily suspended its services in Tanzania due to regulatory challenges.
However, after constructive discussions with the Tanzanian government, Uber resumed its operations in Dar es Salaam on January 18, 2023. Since then, Uber has continued to serve residents and visitors in Dar es Salaam, offering various ride options to cater to different needs and preferences.
Despite the availability and success of Uber’s ride-hailing services in Dar es Salaam, Uber Eats has not been launched in the Tanzanian market. As of the latest information available, there are no official announcements regarding the introduction of Uber Eats in Dar es Salaam or other Tanzanian cities.
For food delivery services in Dar es Salaam, residents and visitors can explore several local platforms that cater to diverse culinary preferences.
