Fahad Awadh Famous Business Leader in Africa
Fahad Awadh is a young entrepreneur from Tanzania. He is the founder of YYTZ Agro-Processing whose focus is building an inclusive cashew nut value chain by working with rural cashew farmers and women processing groups to help them add value to their own crop and earn more income.
YYTZ provides GAP, food safety training in addition to financial literacy and business skills training for their farmer groups.
By integrating them in the cashew value chain, the farmers are able to earn more from their crop.
By empowering farmers, YYTZ can help alleviate poverty in rural Tanzania. YYTZ’s flagship facility is located in Zanzibar, with a processing capacity of 2,500MT per annum.
Fahad was named one of the 30 Most Promising Young Entrepreneurs in Africa for 2017 & 2018 by Forbes. He was also named one of the 100 Most Influential People of African Descent in 2018.
Mr. Awadh also won the inaugural Best Young SME in Agriculture award at the AfDB Africa Investment Forum in Johannesburg in November 2018.

Alqaim Lalani
Alqaim Lalani is currently an Analyst in Equity Research at RBC Capital Markets in Toronto.
He recently completed a double major Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and History at Columbia University in New York.
Before joining Columbia University, he completed the International Baccalaureate Programme (IB) at Aga Khan Academy Mombasa.
As part of his public service requirement in the IB program, Alqaim pioneered a cancer initiative called Tumaini La Maisha (Hope For Life).
He started this in 2015 for children battling cancer at the Muhimbili National Hospital in Tanzania.
Under this initiative, Alqaim engaged young cancer patients and their parents in arts and crafts activities as part of a healing process and also to raise money for their medical treatment.
This initiative is ongoing and has expanded to Kenya and Uganda.
The parents and patients make bags and other crafts which are sold to the public.
