Durex Gel & Why Its Worth Using

So you might be wondering why you should use a Durex gel lubricant.

Woman to woman, just watch the short video below. 😉

Durex Lubricants

Durex has a wide variety of lubricants beyond those mentioned in this post so far. To give you as exhaustive a list as possible, here are all the Durex lubricants that I know of:

These lubricants may have slightly different names in different markets.

Durex Gel Benefits

The video above spells out some of the benefits of using Durex gel lubricants, but mostly from a female perspective.

The video below spells it out much more clearly.

Hmmm…today’s post is going to be just a little raunchy because I would like to tell you about a great sexual find I made recently. I’m talking about Durex Play 2-in-1 Massage Gel, a Durex lubricant gel that is both a massage gel and personal lubricant. Read on to learn more about this Durex gel including how to use it and potential Durex lube side effects.

Durex Play 2-in-1 Massage Gel: Durex lube side effects

I’m a firm believer in safe sex, and as such, I am a big fan of all things Durex.

I don’t understand my friends who say that they can’t stand sex with a condom.

Durex has condoms for all moods, styles, sizes and preferences.

Durex Condoms

Some of Durex’s most popular condom brands include:

  1. Durex Invisible Super Ultra Thin Condoms for Men
  2. Durex Mutual Climax Condoms
  3. Durex Air
  4. Durex Extra Time, and
  5. Durex Extra Dots

Durex Condoms

Recently, I noticed that Durex had expanded its repertoire of pleasure products.

Not only do they have great new condom brands such as Durex Tingle (great stuff!) and Durex Pleasuremax Warming (which I highly recommend), but they now also offer more than one condom-safe Durex lubricant gel for increased sensitivity during sex.

Durex Play Lubricants

On our supermarket shelves, we now have four new Durex lubricants to choose from:

…and Durex Play 2-in-1 Massage Gel.

Of these products, I once tried Durex Play Heat because it came as a freebie sample with a packet of Durex Fetherlite condoms (the ultimate Durex condom if you ask me), but I had never purchased any for myself until recently.

Looking for a Good Massage Gel

My partner loves to receive massages, and I like to give them.

We’ve, therefore, been looking for good affordable massage oil for a while now.

Massage with Durex Play 2-in-1 Massage Gel

After a horrific attempt with some (cheap) locally-produced coconut oil (I will spare you the details), it occurred to me to try Durex Play 2-in-1 Massage Gel because not only is this a massage gel, but also a water-based personal lubricant so that a massage can, if need be, progress easily, seamlessly, and happily into something steamier! 🙂

(In case you don’t know, condoms should never be used with oil-based lubricants which can compromise the integrity of the condom!)

My Experience With Durex Play 2-in-1 Massage Gel

On a whim, I bought a bottle of Durex Play 2-in-1 Massage Gel while I was at Nakumatt recently.

Whoa! Can I just say there were two happy Nairobians going about their day the next day?!

We tested both the massage quality and the Durex lubricant property of this lubricant gel.

As a massage gel, Durex Play 2-in-1 Massage Gel is a little light but feels amazingly silky.

I had heard that description used often before, but nothing prepared me for the feel of it on skin.

Ladies, it sort of feels like one of those moisturizers that costs a fortune for a little pot: light and super moist.

As a lubricant, let me just say that this Durex gel worked wonders and my partner likened it to the feeling of sex without a condom.

Have I mentioned already that Durex Play 2-in-1 Massage Gel is edible and tastes sweet?

I’ll say no more and let you try it yourself.

How to Use Durex Play 2-in-1 Massage Gel (Durex Lube Side Effects Discussed at the Top of This Page)

Durex Play 2-in-1 Massage Gel, as its name suggests, can be used in two ways.

First, it can be used as an aid in giving massages, thus resulting in more intensely satisfying massages.

Secondly, it can be used as a lubricant during intercourse.

To use Durex Play 2-in-1 Massage Gel, just flip the bottle cap and squeeze gently to get some onto your hands or directly onto the body.

Intimate Massage with Durex Massage Gel 2-in-1

For a massage, gently move your hands over parts of your partner’s body as you both prefer.

Durex Play 2-in-1 Massage Gel has a non-greasy feel and absorbs well into the skin.

To use as a lubricant, apply the Durex lubricant gel onto you and/or your partner’s intimate parts and proceed as usual.

If using a condom, first put on the condom, then apply the Durex gel on it once it is already on.

Durex Play 2-in-1 Massage Gel can be used as vaginal, oral, and/or anal lube.

It is water soluble so it will not stain sheets, clothes, or your skin and can be easily washed off.

Add more lubricant as necessary.

  1. Wow! I’ve seen them in the pharmacies over here, but I have never taken the time to look at them. I thought it was all BS…now I will try thanks girl!

    1. Hi GotBigBoooty (lol at that! :-)),

Welcome to ChickAboutTown! Yes, you definitely want to take a closer look. Enjoy! And give us feedback ;-).

      1. hey girl…
and thanks for the info about the gyms.
I am coming back to nairobi and needed that
info urgently. are there any cheaper ones
        though?

        1. Hi GotBigBooty,

A couple of years ago, I used to hear people talk well of the gym at Visions Plaza on Mombasa Road, which at the time charged 2,500 KSh a month for membership (remember this is hearsay). From the outside it looked really good but I can’t tell you from experience what the service was like on the inside. In my experience, in an effort to get a cheaper gym one often had to compromise on quality.

When I was last in Nairobi, I saw that quite a number of new gyms had come up which looked pretty good – I have no clue what pricing at these gyms was like though. For instance, I saw a good looking gym in Prestige Plaza on Ngong Road, and I know another one opened up in Yaya not too long ago. I guess you’ll have to shop around once you get back to Nairobi. Let me know what you find when you do!

          Cheers,
          Biche

  2. Heck if one is not getting any at least it doesn’t go to waste!

I always tell myself I’ll buy one, but I freak out coz they are just right there at the counter and everyone always seems to be staring!

Aki am going to go to the supermarket at night when no one is there (yeeeei for 24hour shopping!) and am going to grab myself a bottle.

    1. Hi Mama,

So I guess your one of those people who also cringes when it comes to buying a condoms, eh? 😉 I’ll just agree with you: yeeeei for 24-hour shopping. 🙂

  3. Hey,

Just discovered this blog and spending a little time on the archives as it should be,

I have tried the which has an interesting tingle that lasts for about a minute and smells like Vaporub.

It is fine but I am just suspicious of it… to me a lube is functional so I am sticking with good old K- (I do not plug products). All I want is something unobtrusive and condom safe

    1. Hi Potash,

      Welcome to ChickAboutTown!

You must be referring to Play Tingle. I’ve never tried that before, but if it’s anything like the Durex Tingle condom, I think I’d find it pleasant enough. 😉

I’ve never tried KY. I should try that sometime.

      Thanks for sharing,
      Biche

  4. Hey…
I once tried the tingle lubricant… It made me rather uncomfy..KY is good, but the durex 2-in-1..ABSOLUTELY DIVINE!

    1. Hi Virgo,

      Welcome to ChickAboutTown!

I’ve seen this product at Shopper’s Supermarket, both in Mikocheni and in Oysterbay, on the shelf where condoms are stocked. Come back and leave me a comment once you’ve given it a try! 😉

      Biche

  5. wa!!…….am so grateful to the heavens i totally found this.please send more ideas on fun products 🙂

  6. Lol Paula,

  8. Hi Nash,

    Welcome to ChickAboutTown!

I can’t tell you for sure where else to find it, especially that I no longer live in Nairobi, but as a former Nairobian, the next place I’d look would be a well-stocked pharmacy. I hope that helps. Good luck with finding the product!

    Biche

  9. Hi I realize this is a very old topic as the last comment was made in 2010.. Just needed to confirm something hence am here. Wanted to use the durex massage, is it really edible?wanted to use it with my girl to spice things up during and after foreplay.. And has anyone experienced any side effects or anything? especially around the “delicate” areas.. Thanks, Neo

    1. Hi Neo7,

Welcome to ChickAboutTown! I am sorry I never responded to your comment, I see you posted it in the month of December, so it must have slipped through the cracks during the holiday season. In case answers might still be useful to you:

      1. It is indeed edible. I can attest to that again from recent use. 😉
      2. I’ve never experienced side effects, but people react to different things. If either you or your partner experience adverse side effects, it is advised that you stop using it.

If you try it out, I hope you like it as much as I do. 😉

      Biche

    1. Hi Chrissz,

      Welcome to ChickAboutTown!

I can’t say for sure, but I would try at Nakumatt or any well-stocked pharmacy downtown.

      Good luck finding it! 😉

      Biche

First and foremost, welcome to Chick About Town. It’s great to see you here! 🙂

      Biche

  11. Very practical! I will keep this in the back of my mind! The information will surely come in handy at some point.

    1. Hahahhaha…so I see you found the post I was telling you about the other night. How did I put it again? “Better sex for all!” 😆
