Happy new year, dear reader! I hope you had an awesome festive season and that your year is off to a great start. As we begin another year, which I am sure we all hope will be filled with fun, beautiful, amazing (travel) experiences and adventures, I want to take the time and tell you about my most memorable travel discovery of 2017. It all began last summer as I was planning a 3-week family road trip across Tanzania. I sort of stumbled across it by accident. After three amazing finds using this service, though, I think I can rule … Continue reading Booking.com: My Favorite Travel Discovery of 2017

Ras Kutani, Kigamboni, Tanzania & 39 Other “Summer” Photos Taken in Tanzania

Summer in the Northern Hemisphere coincides with peak travel season in Tanzania. This “summer”—I put that in quotes because it wasn’t actually summer in Tanzania but rather some of our cooler months—I did my fair share of traveling and exploration because my brother was visiting from the U.S., and I wanted to show him all the best that the country had to offer. Today, Bagamoyo is a a sleepy, slow town … Continue reading Travellers Lodge Bagamoyo, Historical Sites & Other Things to Do in Bagamoyo, Tanzania

Emirates Flight Sale

Last week, my phone was blowing up with pictures and videos from Business Class on one of Emirates’ A380 flights. I was GREEN with envy! The culprit was my youngest brother, who on a trip to Mauritius, not only flew on an Emirates A380 aircraft, which happens to be the largest passenger airliner in the world, but also got bumped up to Business Class on one of the flights there. Upon his return to Dar es Salaam, as you can only imagine, I could not hear the end of it! He kept using words like “spaceship-like”, “smooth”, “gigantic”, and “breathtaking” … Continue reading Emirates Flight Sale

Century Cinemax Mkuki House & 38 Other East African Pictures

It’s been almost 3 months since I last shared the best of my Instagram feed with you, so that’s what I am going to do today. The pictures you’ll find in this list include, as always, pictures taken near water bodies (what can I say? I am Pisces), at hotels, and at the magical time of sunset. You’ll also find some aerial photography: pictures taken from tall buildings or from the plane. I am pleased to share that the very best of these photographs—or at least the ones my followers liked most on Instagram—are of my hometown, Bukoba. You’ll find … Continue reading Century Cinemax Mkuki House & 38 Other East African Pictures
